Festive verrine - French Kiwi, Passion Fruit and Meringue Parfait

These easy-to-make verrines are a light and festive French parfait dessert combining fresh fruit, crunchy meringue and creamy yogurt. Perfect for the holiday season, they offer a refreshing and elegant finish to any meal.

While traditional French parfaits are typically frozen, cream-based desserts, modern yogurt parfaits have become a popular reinterpretation of the concept with layered desserts made with yogurt, fruit and crunchy elements. In this version, creamy Greek yogurt creates a smooth base, crisp French meringue adds texture and fresh fruit brings brightness and natural acidity. Served in individual glasses, the result is an elegant yogurt parfait dessert, ideal for ending festive meals on a light and refreshing note.

Kiwis may feel exotic, but they are in fact widely grown in France, particularly in the Southwest, where the mild Atlantic climate allows the fruit to develop its characteristic sweetness and gentle acidity.
Even more surprising, small varieties such as kiwi berries (baby kiwis) are also cultivated, offering a more delicate and aromatic twist.
France also produces passion fruit in its overseas territories, including French Guiana, where the tropical climate enhances its intense aroma and tangy sweetness. These unexpected origins highlight the diversity of French agriculture and bring an extra layer of flavour to this modern French parfait dessert.
