Sparkling Grapefruit Mauresque

Here is a summery and sparkling twist on the famous French cocktail Mauresque, traditionally made with French pastis and orgeat syrup. In this refreshing version, citrus notes and fine bubbles enhance the flavors of anise and almond, creating an original, fruity, and delicately fragrant apéritif - perfect for hot summer days!

  • 3 cl
  • 1.50 cl
  • 1 cl
  • 10 cl
  • 4 cl
  • 1 slice (for garnish)
  • 1 sprig (for garnish)

Preparation

Fill a large glass with ice cubes. Pour in the pastis, orgeat syrup, and lemon juice. Stir gently with a long spoon.

Add the grapefruit tonic, then the sparkling water. Adjust the quantities to taste for intensity and freshness.

Garnish with a slice of grapefruit and a sprig of fresh thyme. Serve immediately, well chilled.
