A delicious, elegant cocktail made with cognac. We recommend using a V.S.O.P. (very superior old pale) cognac for this recipe, reserving the X.O. cognac for pure tasting.

Preparation

Combine cognac, lemon juice, sugar syrup, and egg white in a shaker.

Fill the shaker with ice, close it, and shake vigorously for about 20 seconds until the outside of the shaker is very cold.

Rub lemon zest around the rim of the glass and add ice cubes to the glass.

Pour the Cognac Sour into the glass, straining out the ice cubes using a cocktail strainer.
Garnish with a twist of lemon zest.
