French Garlic Baguette

Craving garlic bread? This French Garlic Baguette combines a crispy crust, rich garlic butter, and Comté PDO cheese for a burst of flavour. Perfect as a side, snack or appetiser, it’s an easy way to elevate your bread game with a touch of French flair!

  • Butter
    Charentes-Poitou Butter PDO
    125 g (softened) See the article
  • 2 cloves (peeled and minced)
  • 30 g (chopped)
  • Comte cheese
    Comté PDO
    120 g (grated) See the article

Preheat oven: Preheat your oven to 180°C or 190°C fan.

Prepare the garlic butter: in a small bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, and black pepper. Mix well until the ingredients are evenly distributed.

Slice the baguette: Slice the baguette into 1 cm thick slices, but don't cut all the way through.

Spread the butter: Spread the garlic butter mixture generously between the baguette slices, and finish with the freshly grated Comté.

Bake: Place the baguette on a baking sheet and bake in the oven for 10-15 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and the butter is melted and bubbly.

Serve: Remove from the oven and serve immediately.
